My Work and Personal Agenda

My Work is the user's cross-project agenda. It is separate from Profile: Profile is identity information; My Work is the operating queue for the person's work.

My Work answers two questions:

  • What is on my plate?
  • What is late or about to be late?

My Work turns accessible project data into a personal, due-date-bucketed agenda.

What Appears

By default, My Work shows My Actions: L3 Actions where the viewed person is responsible. A toggle can add Deliverables: L2 items in swim lanes the viewed person owns or delegates.

L1 Gates are intentionally excluded. A project manager's whole-project control surface is VPM or Gantt, not a personal agenda list.

Due Buckets

Rows are grouped by due-time bucket, earliest deadline first:

BucketMeaning
OverdueDue before the effective today
TodayDue today
This WeekDue within the next 7 days
LaterDue beyond this week but inside the selected horizon

Each row shows the task name, project and lane context, due text such as 8 days late or in 2 days, the due date, and a level tag such as L3 Action or L2 Deliverable.

Filters

Use Projects to narrow the agenda to selected projects. Use due within N days to choose the forward horizon; the normal default is 14 days.

The Viewing selector lets a user view another person's work within the projects the viewer can access. This is useful for managers, substitutes, and stand-up preparation.

Selected Row Actions

My Work stays uncluttered by showing actions only for the selected row.

ActionUse it for
Open in GanttGo to the actual task row. Gantt includes L3 rows.
Open Parent in VPMFor an L3 Action, select the parent L2 because VPM draws L1 and L2 only.
Open in VPMFor an L2 item, select that item in the VPM canvas.
Edit Action / Deliverable / MilestoneOpen the same task editor used by VPM and Gantt.
Send MessageStart a task-anchored message.

Closing work is done through the task editor, not a standalone "done" button, because closing can require fields such as actual hours.

Hours Header

The planned hours header shows the viewed person's Est and Act hours across a rolling 13-week window: 4 weeks back, this week, and 8 weeks forward.

Hours live on L3 Actions. L2 Deliverables roll up from their L3s. When a task spans multiple weeks, hours are allocated by working days across those weeks. Actual hours are an even-spread approximation over the task span, not a timesheet.
