The VPM Works Process
Planning Event Preparation
- Building a Business Case
A strong business case confirms strategic fit, acceptable financial return, affordability, and capability/capacity before the organization commits execution resources.

- Building a Team
No project succeeds without the right team: people who know the market, people who know the technology, and people who know the organization's operational capability. Part of the planning process is picking the right team and ensuring the organization (including their supervisors) are aligned to spending the time the project needs. Get your commitments documented - you'll need that later when the "amnesia" sets in and people start plucking back resources for other initiatives.

Planning Event
The planning event is where the cross-functional team converts strategy into an executable phase plan. The team aligns functional schedules, compresses where needed to meet business objectives, isolates the next phase boundary, and defines how execution will be managed with clear ownership and cadence.
